Press Release: IFA 2019 – British ‘Connected Kitchen’ company, Powered by Smarter
Electrolux and AEG become the first partners of the new ‘Powered by Smarter’ Platform which transforms existing appliances into a connected ecosystem.
Smarter will harness its technology to power existing industry appliances using its new plug-and-play platform. ‘Powered by Smarter™’ resolves the issue of a fragmented ecosystem and provides the first end-to-end solution, specifically for appliance manufacturers.
The platform offers full integration from the sensors to the consumer facing software, giving manufacturers the ability to drive the software as a service (SAAS) across their existing customer base, making it a valuable proposition without the extended development time. The service creates a connection between the physical appliance, the end customer and the fast-moving consumer goods industry by providing real time insights and direct replenishment.
The partnership with Electrolux and AEG will see that the latest Powered by Smarter™ FridgeCam is available in appliances across Europe, providing the consumer with a fully connected experience and real time replenishment.
Powered by Smarter™ offers features such as Smarter Assist™ which uses advanced Artificial Intelligence, powered by insights from thousands of fridges to create one of the most powerful object recognition systems for refrigerated replenishment. This paves the way for Smarter Analytics™, a tool for personalised engagement as well as opportunities for targeted marketing via customer behaviour and trends – a new insight into consumer needs.
Smarter already works with Tesco and Amazon Fresh in the UK to provide real time replenishment to existing traditional appliances that now benefit from being connected and is set to build on the list of partners later this year.
“We have recognised a very real need to bring technology that improves the life of the end consumer, particularly in the kitchen. Our hardware and sensors power the Smarter platform and we are now pleased to offer the same solution on a larger scale to the key appliance makers in the industry and look forward to more customers being able to enjoy our services” – Christian Lane CEO of Smarter.
The Company continues to manufacture hardware under its own Smarter label which includes the original iKettle, Smarter Coffee and the Smarter FridgeCam. The products are available online at www.smarter.am, or in retailers such as Curry’s, John Lewis and Amazon.
